100s of Designs of the Lovable Betty!

I get a great feeling when I’m sitting in front of the TV with my young children and we’re watching classic Betty Boop videos or TV cartoon shows! As for me, I know the entire history of Betty Boop and her antics. I even have a video collection of Betty Boop cartoons from the 1930s which includes her first appearance in the cartoon “Dizzy Dishes”. most folks aren’t even aware that Betty was originally portrayed as a dog with floppy ears that were later replaced with her big hoop earrings! She was supposed to be the girlfriend of Bimbo the dog. But Bimbo became her pet, instead.

Even though the videos of Betty Boop that I have were originally written for adults, my kid just love them. We sit for hours at a time and laugh at the way Betty seems to get out of trouble each and every time. And all though this, she never loses her style. I think my kids wil always remember the good times that we’ve had while watching Betty Boop. It’s something that they can look back with fondness over and laugh at the fact that their dad was so in love with that little cartoon character.

Recently, I have made a big change in my personal style that everyone seems to notice and I have, subsequently, received a lot of compliments. That new style revolves around an old familiar face and voice that belongs to none other than Max Fleischer’s Betty Boop cartoons! I think the thing that made me decide to give my image a complete makeover is the fact that they started showing more Betty Boop cartoons on TV, recently. Watching those old cartoons brought back a lot of fond childhood memories and nostalgia. I began to feel that my entire life was somehow related to Betty’s adventures.

This became even more apparent to me when I looked back over the year and saw how my ability to overcome life’s adversities was due to my positive attitude. An attitude that one can see in the way Betty Boop’s positive attitude helped her get out of a jam on many different occasions. This is something that all my friends have agreed with after I mentioned it to them. I think that’s why they also agree with the change in my personal style. It brings a big smile to all their faces when they see me in my Betty Boop t-shirt!

No matter where you may find yourself in the world, you can see the adorable Betty Boop image on  any number of everyday or collectible items. I found this to be quite astonishing when I made a recent trip to several countries in Europe. I was used to seeing the cute face of Betty when I was traveling in the U.S., but it was pretty much the same wherever I went in Europe! Whether I was in Germany, France or Spain, there was Betty – on coffee cups and t-shirts. There were also a number of shops that sold rare Betty Boop items, as well.

But i guess that i shouldn’t be so surprised at this rather unique phenomenon. After all, I grew up loving the old Betty Boop cartoons that they show on TV. Obviously, those cartoon have been translated and shown all over the world. But even in their original English form, I’m sure they were enjoyed throughout the world, since English is spoken in many foreign places. It really made me feel at home, when I was in Europe to see Betty’s face looking back at me in so many different shops and in so many far off countries!
